Dear AdjunctWorld Community,

You've probably noticed that the AdjunctWorld blog has been missing over the past several weeks.  Here's why...

An automated 'bot' at Google (host of the blog) decided that it was SPAM.  Google says a SPAM blog
"...can be recognized by their irrelevant, repetitive, or nonsensical text, along with a large number of links, usually all pointing to a single site."

I ask you, did you think the AdjunctWorld blog was SPAM?  Or did you find it a valuable resource that supported your search for new Adjunct jobs?

If you'd like to see the AdjunctWorld blog return, please leave a brief comment below and/or VOTE in the poll to the right.  I'll share this with Google as part of appealing this mistake.  Hopefully it will help them see the error in their ways.

Thanks again for being a part of the AdjunctWorld Community and your continued support!

  8. Dear Google --

Please remove your block against the Adjunct World blog.

Adjunct World is a wonderful resource and it is as far from spam as a blog site can be.

Matt Cobb, Adjunct World's founder, is a conscientious blogger who has always been careful to provide service only to those who request it. He is a NOT a spammer and your arbitrary software program that blocked Adjunct World made a genuine mistake, which I hope you will correct immediately.

You owe Matt and his Adjunct World community a big apology.

Thank you for your immediate attention and correction.

    Sincerely,

    1. Update:

I also wrote to one of Google's feedback portals to request that they reopen Adjunct World. Of course, they neither make it easy to write to them nor provide a name or department with which you can follow-up, so my request may have gone straight to the trash.

In any event, I hope you're back up soon on a better platform, Matt.

      Onward!

  10. Matt --

While I believe you've been wronged by Google here and I admit that it really isn't my business, may I suggest that you move your blog to another platform?

To be honest, your blog is far too valuable to be parked on Google's system. I believe you could eliminate many of the Blogger hassles and deliver your message to a much wider audience if you were to register adjunctworld.com and build your blog using WordPress or TypePad (full disclosure: I use TypePad, but have no financial stake or affiliate relationship with that platform).

I admit that moving a blog can be a real hassle, but Adjunct World is better than Google's platform.

In any event, whatever you do, I wish you the very best in your endeavors.

    Onward and Upward!

  39. I think Google had better spend it's time addressing FAR more serious issues (child porn online, terrorism online, to name but a few) rather than thwarting a bunch of adjuncts' attempts to connect with each other. Get real. Maybe this robot thing (instead of actual human oversight) is the reason the more sinister websites are thriving and this blog has been kicked to the curb...? Give us our blog back, please! Perhaps a group-wide disabling of all Google toolbars and searches would be in order if this is not reinstated! I teach computer classes and I'm sure my students would love to protest something. I'm kidding about the disablement of toolbars and protests (sort of.) Really, please bring it back - adjuncts are already tortured, abused and disrespected enough. Have mercy on us (please?) :-)
